| JANUARY NEWSLETTER FROM THE SECRETARY: January 24, 2008 Hello EJRTCA members! Hello members, I know it has been over a year since we had posted a newsletter but here it is with quite a bit of news and more news as soon as possible. We have the privilege of having a member within our midst that is quite learned about jack russells and she has agreed to share some of her knowledge with us. I have learned allot of her and continue to learn. She is one smart lady. She has filled in many gaps for me as to what has been going on with our jacks the past few years and some great history too. Please note that we are no longer affiliated with the AKC. AKC decided to discontinue our club once they named Jo Ann Stoll's club the parent club per Jo Ann's request. If you would still like to go AKC, you need to go to the AKC/FSS website and it should tell you what to do and how to get in touch with her. Our club is going strong! It will not be long until the number 700 will be issued. These are dogs that have been actively registered with our association. On issuing back numbers to dogs in pedigrees, I have issued over 2000 of those. I appreciate your patience when you are sending in your papers. It is more tedious now than ever to make sure they are done right, and, if I make a mistake on your dog's permanent papers, let me know and I will correct it. We will also have an update on how to register your dogs in the near future, hopefully to help you in your registration process. We also have members that are currently learning about trials and hopefully they will be able to put on a trial in the near future. This will be a wonderful addition to our registry. It just had to have someone willing to put forth the effort. My time is extremely limited and this is about all I can handle. On a lighter note, I became a grandma this month to a beautiful baby girl, Breanna Elizabeth. She, Mom and Pop are doing fine. AND, not to brag or anything............well yeah, I guess so........my eldest daughter will be receiving her "white coat" on February the 1st, marking the last part of her preparation in becoming a licensed veterinarian. I am so proud of both of my girls! We would also very much like to hear your news, and if you will let us, post your bragging rights on our site also. Here's to a great and prosperous '08! Jana Crawford, EJRTCA secretary Rescue News: Please beware that Jacks are not for everyone, and do you research before you bring one into your home. DOG JOKES Section and Other Information: It was a slow day in heaven so God telephoned Satan to see what was going on. "It’s slow here too," says Satan. "Well," God said, " I think a dog show might be fun. Let’s put on a dog show." "Sounds good," says Satan, "But why are you calling me? You’ve got all the dogs up there." "I know," answered God, "But, you’ve got all the judges down there!" A guy wanted to take his Jack Russell into a restaurant with him, so he put on dark glasses and "tapped" his way into the establishment. "The waiter said "Hey! you can't bring a dog in here.” "The man indignantly claimed, "I'm blind! This is my Seeing Eye dog!" "You're trying to tell me," said the waiter, "that this Jack Russell is a Seeing Eye dog?" "What?" cried the man, "they gave me a Jack Russell?" What is a definition of Jack Russell induced terror? "When you are trying to stop your Jack from shredding a foxtail, which is attached to a "Harley Davidson handle bar, as a 7 foot tall Hells Angel bears down on you.
